Bishop Statement on Aurelia Skipwith Confirmation


WASHINGTON, D.C., December 12, 2019 -

Today, Ranking Republican Rob Bishop (R-Utah) released the following statement regarding the Senate confirmation of Aurelia Skipwith as the new Director of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Skipwith currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks at the Department of the Interior, where her team is responsible for ensuring the protection and stewardship of lands and waters within the national park and wildlife refuge systems.

“I congratulate Aurelia Skipwith on her successful confirmation as the Director for the Fish and Wildlife Service. Her diverse background and keen insight into policy makes her well-suited to lead the agency into the future. I look forward to working with her in this new role.”
