Bishop Statement on House Passage of Several Federal Land Management Bills

WASHINGTON, D.C., June 25, 2018 -

Today, the House passed H.R. 5751 (Chairman Rob Bishop, R-Utah), H.R. 221 (U.S. Rep. Don Young, R-Ala.), H.R. 3392 (U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson, R-La.), H.R. 805 (U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif.), H.R. 1791 (U.S. Rep. David Reichert, R-Wash.), H.R. 4257 (U.S. Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah), and H.R. 857 (U.S. Rep. Paul Cook, R-Calif.). Chairman Bishop issued the following statement:

“This wide array of bills improves the management of the federal estate and demonstrates the House is serious about expanding access, understanding, and enjoyment of our public lands. These bills also help the federal government be a better neighbor to local communities. I hope the Senate will act quickly to take up these bills,” Chairman Bishop stated.  

H.R. 5751, the Golden Spike 150th Anniversary Act, redesignates Golden Spike National Historic Site and establishes the Transcontinental Railroad Network.

H.R. 221, the Hydrographic Services Improvement Amendments Act, reauthorizes the Hydrographic Services Improvement Act of 1998.

H.R. 3392, the Lake Bistineau Land Title Stability Act, provides for stability of title to certain land in the State of Louisiana.

H.R. 805, the Tulare Youth Recreation and Women’s History Enhancement Act, authorizes the conveyance of and removes the reversionary interest of the United States in certain lands in the City of Tulare, California.

H.R. 1791, the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Act, establishes the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area in the State of Washington.

H.R. 4257, the Advancing Conservation and Education Act, maximizes land management efficiencies, promotes land conservation, and generates education funding.

H.R. 857, the California Off-Road Recreation and Conservation Act, provides for conservation and enhanced recreation activities in the California Desert Conservation Area.
