Today, House Committee on Natural Resources Ranking Member Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) announced Tara Hupman as the incoming chief counsel for committee Republicans. Charles Park, former chief counsel, will be leaving Capitol Hill to work in the private sector.

Prior to joining the committee with Westerman in January 2021, Park previously served in the Department of Energy under the Trump administration. He also served as deputy counsel for the House Committee on Natural Resources under former Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah). Park is now heading to Houston, Texas, to work as counsel for Golden Pass LNG.

Hupman previously was senior counsel for the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, serving under Ranking Member Sam Graves (R-Mo.). A Tennessee native, she has also worked for the Senate Committee on Small Business under Chairmen Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and James Risch (R-Idaho) and for the Senate Committee on Homeland Security, Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management under Chairman James Lankford (R-Okla.).
